Online petition seeks removal of antisemitic site from Google

Published: Thursday, April 1, 2004 4:52 PM EST
Steven Weinstock, 25, a former Telshe Yeshiva student, has created an online petition to remove the Web site Jewwatch.com from the Google.com search engine.

"When performing a search for the word 'Jew' on Google, the first (Web site listed) is Jewwatch.com, a site that has been notorious for being antisemitic," Weinstock has written in a widely disseminated e-mail. The contents of the site include topics such as Jewish anti-American spies, Jewish communist rulers and killers, and Jewish-controlled press.

Weinstock, a real-estate investor in New York, contacted Google three times about the offensive site, but has not received a response. "In order for Google to remove this, they would need a petition of over 50,000 requests," Weinstock says. He has set up an online petition site at www.removejewwatch.com

At press time, over 2,000 signatures had been added to the list.
