LeVine joins CJN staff
Reuben LeVine joins the staff of the Cleveland Jewish News as a part-time graphic artist. His duties will include designing promotional materials and layouts for both special sections and the weekly paper.
LeVine holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. While in Milwaukee, he worked as a graphic designer for an architecture firm. LeVine returned to his hometown of Shaker Heights a year and a half ago, and has been doing freelance design of websites, brochures and business cards for several Cleveland companies.
Reuben is the son of Berinthia and Dr. Mark LeVine of Shaker Heights.
John Ryan, executive secretary of the Cleveland AFL-CIO, was given the Labor Achievement Award by State of Israel Bonds for his support of Israel and his efforts on behalf of trade unions. At the event honoring him, the organization sold $2.6 million in bonds. Ryan is one of Cleveland's most prominent labor leaders, having served as president of Communications Workers of America (CWA) Local 4309 and the CWA Greater Cleveland Council.
Andrea Davidson, librarian at The Temple-Tifereth Israel, was one of six individuals in the United States to serve on this year's Sydney Taylor Book Award Committee. The award recognizes the best in Jewish children's literature each year.
