Not illegitimate

In her column “The Academy Awards, celebrity and the ‘J’ word” (CJN, March 10), Cynthia Dettelbach wrote that Sarah Bernhardt “bore an illegimate son.”


Children are not illegitimate. Children who are born out of wedlock should not be stigmatized that way. They have the right to life and all it entails.
