No favor to Israel
There are those who feel that President George Bush did Israel a big favor by going into Iraq. Some contend that Israel has never had a better friend. I wonder.
I’ve been led to believe that Israel has always been more worried about Iran than Iraq. In view of the current issues, this has been a realistic concern.
Iran seems intent on having a nuclear bomb. Little has been done so far to help stem that goal. Iran is giving aid to Hamas, Hezbollah, and to the anti-American groups in Iraq. All of this is increasing the threats to Israel. Iran’s president says he wants to destroy the state of Israel.
When I add all this up, I cannot help but conclude that Bush’s invasion and occupation of Iraq has not done Israel any favor.
