Life is good for Ryan Bilsky. Last week he ran the Columbus Marathon, crossing the finish line in three hours and 37 minutes. “It was an amazing experience,” says Bilsky. “This was my first marathon, and I exceeded my expectations.”
When he is not running miles each day through Cleveland Metropark trails or along Chagrin River Road, Bilsky is sitting behind his desk at AmTrust, crunching numbers.
“My degree is in financial management, and I feel lucky to have landed a job in the bank’s accounting department,” he says. “I was told I had the position just two weeks before my college graduation.”
Although Bilsky has traveled all over the country, including many visits to his three favorite cities – Boston, San Francisco and Seattle, he never hesitated about returning to his hometown.
“My parents, Vita and Steve, are wonderful, and we have a very large, warm extended family here,” he says. “There is great potential in this city. Despite the current economic downturn, I’m confident about our future. But, most important to me, Cleveland is home. I really love this city.”
