Steven Dettelbach sworn in as U.S. Attorney
Cleveland native Steven Dettelbach is the new U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio. U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown administered the oath of office Monday morning at Martin Luther King Jr. High School in Cleveland. Dettelbach fills the position formerly occupied by Greg White, who now serves as a federal magistrate judge.
A partner at Baker Hostetler since 2006, Dettelbach has worked as an assistant U.S. attorney in Cleveland on the Organized Crime and Corruption Task Force and as a federal prosecutor in Maryland. The Harvard Law School graduate previously served as counsel to Rep. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) and in the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division. Gov. Ted Strickland appointed Dettelbach to the Ohio Ethics Commission in 2008.
