JCC festival celebrates Jewish Book Month
Are you ready to read?
It’s time for the annual Mandel JCC Festival of Jewish Books & Authors, running Nov. 9-22. Eight Jewish authors will discuss their latest books, ranging from tales of World War II and unusual romances, to nonfiction explorations of art in the Great Depression and the bonds of friendship between women.
The festival kicks off Mon., Nov. 9, with NBC News Tel Aviv bureau chief Martin Fletcher discussing his memoir Breaking News. A special program for children is set for Sun., Nov. 15, from 9:30-11:30 with breakfast, crafts, balloon animals, storytelling, live music and an appearance by Clifford the Big Red Dog.
See pages 14-16 for reviews of some of this year’s featured books. More reviews continue in next week’s CJN. Events take place at The Mandel JCC unless otherwise indicated. For tickets to paid events, 866-546-1358 or www.clevejcc.org. For reservations to free events, 216-593-6235.
