LeBron James' high school coach, Keith Dambrot, offered this reaction when contacted by the Cleveland Jewish News within an hour of today's announcement that James would be returning to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

“I’m glad he’s coming back to the community he cares about," said Dambrot, who coached James for two seasons at Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. "It’s great for the community; great for him. He’s one of the greatest players of all time, if not the greatest.”

Dambrot, who is Jewish, said he texted James “probably three or four days ago. I just told him to call after he makes his announcement.”

Dambrot said he hadn’t heard from James within the hour, but did hear from his mother, Gloria James. However, he wouldn’t reveal the nature of the discussion.

Dambrot is the head coach at the University of Akron.
