Michiko “Mickey” Glasser (nee Horie), beloved wife of Ray; loving mother of Tony (Laney) and Samuel (Dina) Caspio, Kayiko (Marcco) Gambatese, Coral (Richard) Handel and the late Tamiko Myers; devoted grandmother of Ricky (Shawna) Myers, Daniela, Samuel, Summer and Nicolas Caspio, Marissa and Ricky Handel Jr., Erica and Dante Gambatese, and Anna Green; devoted great-grandmother of Tayler, Dylan, Kendall, Alex, and Anthony, died June 8 in the presence of her loving family.

A beloved waitress and Cleveland icon at Corky & Lenny’s for more than 30 years, Mrs. Glasser was born March 22, 1937, in Nagasaki, Japan. In Japan, she worked in the mines at age 18, and she was a motorcycle stunt rider for the circus.  She married an American serviceman and came to the USA in 1957, never to return to Japan.

Mrs. Glasser lived 75 wonderful years of dedicated service to her family, friends, and patrons. Her life was filled with hard work, excitement, and a deep love for kindness, generosity, and compassion for others.

A celebration of life reception will be held for her family, friends, and dearest patrons from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 17, at Corky & Lenny’s restaurant, 27091 Chagrin Blvd., Woodmere.

Her wish was to have contributions in her memory for her grandchildren, which may be sent to Sam Caspio, C/O Calvary Assembly of God, 28870 Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills, OH 44092.

Welcome to the discussion.
