With the art scene in Cleveland alive and thriving, it was no surprise that three good friends would fulfill their dream and open the District Gallery in the revamped Van Aken shopping district in Shaker Heights. To launch their new venture, owners Karen Chaikin, Bob Roth and Richard Uria held a launch party on Aug. 24. With a few hundred art lovers on hand, both collectors and partygoers enjoyed aperol spritzers, glasses of red wine, sushi and charcuterie, all while kibbitzing and browsing the gallery’s diverse collection. The District Gallery will represent both local and national artists and will also provide a venue for events.
