Forty-three years ago, five guys from Warren wanted to make a difference in the state of Israel. With a focus on the nation’s children and an initial loan for $2 million, they began what is now called the Israel Tennis and Educational Centers. ITEC held an exhibition and casual dinner Aug. 20 on the courts at Beechmont Country Club in Orange. Guests watched and enjoyed as several of the Israeli players spoke and displayed their talents. There are 14 centers located across the Jewish state and no child is turned away, regardless of nationality or religion.
