The Jewish Federation of Cleveland and Cleveland Public Library hosted a delegation of public library leaders from Beit Shean, Cleveland’s sister city in Israel. The delegation kicked off a pilot program at CPL’s East 131st St. Branch based on an innovative library model that relies upon teen engagement, empowerment and leadership to drive involvement and growth in Beit Shean.

The seeds of this partnership were planted in 2017, when Felton Thomas, executive director and CEO of the Cleveland Public Library, traveled to Israel on the Federation’s first-ever Thomas & Joann Adler Civic Leaders Israel Mission.
