Richard Gusky, 72, of Blaine, Wash., passed away May 21, 2019.

Richard was born on May 11, 1947, in Cleveland to Paul and Ruth Gusky, the eldest of four children. He was a graduate of Charles F. Brush High School (class of 1965) and earned dual master’s degrees in archaeology and anthropology from Kent State University.

Richard loved to sail on his beloved sailboat, traveling for weeks in the Gulf of Mexico or the Caribbean, sometimes with his late father, Paul, as his shipmate. Later in life, Richard moved from Florida to Washington and took up residence on his boat to continue his lifetime hobby of sailing.

Richard is survived by his siblings, brother James Gusky of Solon, and sisters Carol Weiss of Tuscon, Ariz., and Nancy Kilgore of Columbia, S.C. He was a beloved uncle and great-uncle.

A private memorial service was held.
