Mildred Mandell (nee Ginsburg), age 95, passed away Dec. 1, 2019, in Beachwood. She was a lifelong resident of the Cleveland-area.
Born March 4, 1924, in Cleveland to Sarah Ginsburg Kline and Israel Ginsburg, Mildred graduated from Glenville High School. She served as a secretary at Pacific Coal and Community Circuit Theaters. Mildred was also a Temple Emanu El charter member.
Mildred was involved with her temple’s sisterhood, where she was a past president, the Beachwood Schools PTA and Hadassah.
Along with her community involvement, Mildred loved golf, bowling, bridge, art and gardening.
Mildred is survived by her children, Amy (Lee, deceased) Handel, Ellen Mandell of Cleveland, Gary Mandell (Diana Kon) of Chicago and Sally Mandel of Chicago; grandchildren, Jeremy (Lisa) Handel, Gretchen (Ryan) Pollard and Shaun (Alexandria) Room; great-grandchildren, Audrey Handel, Xander Handel and Violet Handel; also survived by Stephen (Nancy) Gage, Carole Florman and Jody Florman. She was predeceased by her husband of 23 years, Harvey M. Mandell; parents, Sarah Ginsburg Kline and Israel Ginsburg; and sister, Lillian Gage.
Graveside services were held Dec. 5 at Hillcrest Cemetery Chapel.
