Sheldon Schlessinger, 86, of Beachwood, passed away peacefully on Oct. 25, 2019. Born on Oct. 11, 1933 to Louis and Kay Schlessinger (both of blessed memory). He attended Cleveland Heights High School in Cleveland Heights and attended Western Reserve University. He served in the Army from 1956 to 1958 then transferred to the Army Reserve until 1962. He was President/CEO of Merit Brass Company until his retirement in 2001.
Sheldon married the love of his life, Beverly, in 1954 and recently they were blessed to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary. Together they enjoyed traveling both domestically and internationally as well as spending quality time with their children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
Mr. Schlessinger is survived by his children: Marc Schlessinger (Susan), Wendy Charna and Karen (Edward) Waters. Cherished Poppy of Lindsey (Jonathan), Jennifer, Brad, Adam, Alyssa, Bryan, Jacob, Carly and Kyle. Loving Papa of great-granddaughter Dakota. Devoted father-in law to Michael Charna. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved sister Elaine (Simon) Lipp.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Oct. 27 at Bet Olam Cemetery (B’nai Jeshurun section), 25796 Chagrin Blvd., Beachwood.
Friends of Marc and Beverly may call Sunday following services until 7 p.m. and from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 28 at the residence of Marc and Susan Schlessinger, 25035 Margot Court, Beachwood.
