Max J. Silberman, 95, passed away June 25, 2019, in Beachwood. He was a resident of the Cleveland area for more than 70 years.

Born on Dec. 27, 1923, to Isadore and Ethel (nee Reisenfeld) Silberman in Vienna, Austria, Max’s family arrived to the United States in 1938.

Graduating from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree, Max also served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received a bronze star for his service.

A member of Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple, Max had a career as a stockbroker.

Max is survived by his children, Ilene Silberman (Dan Friedmann), Marc Silberman (Tina Nichols) and Karen (Eric) Pomerantz; and grandchildren, Daniel and Rachel Pomerantz, Marisa and Michael Silberman, and Lara Rose LoBrutto. He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Bernadine “Bunnie” (nee Gold); sister, Herta Cholfin; and parents, Isadore and Ethel.

Private family graveside services were held June 28. The family requests no visitation at this time.

A memorial service and celebration of Max’s life will be held at 10 a.m. July 21 at Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple, 23737 Fairmount Blvd. in Beachwood.
