Arlyne Zitron (nee Grossman), aged 86 of Lyndhurst, passed away Nov. 16, 2019.
Born to Hattie and Nate Grossman in Cleveland on Sept. 5, 1933, Arlyne graduated from Cleveland Heights High School. She was a homemaker, raising her three children.
Arlyne loved traveling the world, golfing, playing mahjong, dogs, reading and participating in Beachwood Seniors programs. She was able to travel everywhere she wanted in the world.
Arlyne sponsored many animal charities, St. Jude’s Hospital and paralyzed veterans. She lived in Florida for 43 years and was pleased to return to her hometown.
Arlyne is survived by her children, Neil A. Oblonsky, Dean Oblonsky (James Terrel) and Alison Oblonsky (Mercedes Tato); grandson, Ethan Oblonsky (Amber Wintrow); brother, Stanley (Nan) Grossman; and aunt, Ruth Grossman. She was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Karl Zitron; and parents, Hattie and Nate Grossman.
Services will be at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel, 1985 S. Taylor Road in Cleveland Heights. A celebration of life will follow from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 10 at Acacia Reservation, 26899 Cedar Road in Lyndhurst. There will be no other shiva.
