MARCUS & MILLICHAP HIRES MARCELLI: Marcus & Millichap hired Steven Marcelli in its Cleveland office as senior associate.

UNITED WAY NAMES NEW CFO: United Way of Greater Cleveland appointed Deborah Enty as CFO, effective Oct. 14. She will be responsible for the organization’s finance area, including treasury, financial reporting, accounting and transaction processing, budgeting, planning and analysis. Enty succeeds Ann Holt-Wiolland, who is retiring at the end of the year.

AKRON CHILDREN’S HIRES FOUR: Akron Children’s Hospital added Joel Katz, pediatric neurosurgeon; Jessica Bivens and Brandon Jones, pediatric cardiologists; and Lorena Floccari, pediatric orthopedic surgeon, to its hospital staff.

MINC LAW ADDS STEBBINS: Attorney Andrew Stebbins joined Minc Law, an internet defamation law firm.

DUNLOP & JOHNSTON HIRES PASTUSZYNSKI: Dunlop & Johnston, Inc., hired Gina Pastuszynski as marketing and business development manager.

BUCKINGHAM DOOLITTLE HIRES MINKLER: Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs’ Canton office hired attorney Daniel Minkler, effective Oct. 1.

PRIMERICA PROMOTES ZAMIR: Primercia, Inc., a provider of financial services to middle income families in North America, promoted Sari Zamir to regional vice president.

ULMER ADDS TO IMMIGRATION PRACTICE: Allison S. Hall, former federal judicial law clerk, joined Ulmer & Berne LLP’s immigration law group as an attorney.

GOODMAN LEAVES ST. LUKES: Anne Goodman, president and CEO of Saint Luke’s Foundation, announced she will leave her position to start a consulting business serving the nonprofit community. Goodman will continue in her role until her successor is named later this year or in early 2020.

BUCKLEY KING HIRES SHIPP: Buckley King added Paul M. Shipp to its firm. He focuses on commercial and criminal litigation, primarily on advising on and litigating white-collar criminal matters.

ASHMUS RECOGNIZED WITH BLUE DIAMOND AWARD: Keith Ashmus, partner in Frantz Ward’s employment practice, was named the recipient of the Dame Cicely Saunders Blue Diamond Award, selected by the Hospice of the Western Reserve. He received the award Oct. 4 at the Blue Diamond Celebration, a benefit for the Hospice of the Western Reserve.

ULMER RECEIVES HONORS FROM BENCHMARK: Ulmer & Berne LLP’s litigation department and nine of the firm’s partners were ranked in Benchmark Litigation’s 2020 guide to the nation’s leading firms and attorneys. Those honored include: Paul J. (PJ) Cosgrove, Jeffrey S. Dunlap, Frances Floriano Goins, Paul R. Harris, Linda E. Maichl, Jeffrey F. Peck, Frederic X. (Fritz) Shadley, Joseph P. Thomas and Michael N. ULMER PARTNER NAMED TRAILBLAZER: David D. Black, co-chair of Ulmer & Berne LLP’s banking and commercial finance practice group, was recognized by the National Law Journal in its inaugural list of finance, banking and capital markets trailblazers.

CARVER HONORED BY TWO: Randy Carver, president of Carver Financial Services, was named to the 2019 Barron’s list of the “Top 100 Independent Wealth Advisors” in the country. He has been included on this list every year since 2010. Carver was also named to the Forbes’ 2019 list of the Top 250 Wealth Advisors.

ULMER HONORED BY BTI LITIGATION: Ulmer & Berne LLP was named in BTI Consulting Group’s latest report on trends in the litigation market, “BTI Litigation Outlook 2020: Changes, Trends and Opportunities for Law Firms,” and was recognized as a leader in product liability, employment and complex employment litigation.

SCANDLING NAMED TO ON-BOARD CLEVELAND: Jonathan Scandling, attorney at Frantz Ward, was named to the Cleveland Ledership Center’s OnBoard Cleveland class of 2020.

GROUNDWORKS COMPANIES ACQUIRES COMPANY: Groundworks Companies has acquired Ohio Basement Systems. Ohio Basement Systems is one of the leading foundation services companies in Northeast Ohio. Groundworks Companies is the nation’s largest privately held foundation services company, and is headquartered in Virginia.

CLEVELAND VIBRATOR COMPANY EXPANDS: Cleveland Vibrator Co., an industrial equipment supplier, has initiated the process of relocating the company’s headquarters and manufacturing operations from Cleveland’s near west side to a larger facility on the city’s south side. The new location will be at 4544 Hinckley Industrial Parkway, in the old Watt Printing Co. building.

HOWARD HANNA ADDS FIRST INDIANA LOCATION: Howard Hanna will open its first office in Indiana with Howard Hanna SB Real Estate. The office will be led by Sara and Steve Bizzaro.

HEADACHE TREATMENT CENTER OPENS: Headache Freedom Centers, PLLC, has expanded to Cleveland. Based in the Harrisburg, Pa. area, Headache Freedom Centers was founded in 2015 and serves five states. The office is at 26300 Euclid Ave. in Euclid.
