The MetroHealth System and University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital are partnering to enhance pediatric services for patients in the region, starting July 1.
The health systems signed a memorandum of understanding to explore an expanded relationship to bring together the pediatric expertise of both organizations and enhance the care provided to the communities they serve.
“Collaboration in health care ensures that the best resources are available for our patients,” said Dr. Akram Boutros, president and CEO of MetroHealth. “Partnering with Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital will ensure the children we care for receive all that they need for optimal health outcomes.”
UH Rainbow will provide pediatric specialty care services for MetroHealth patients in pediatric radiology, nephrology, cardiology and other disciplines. Services will be offered at the MetroHealth main campus in Cleveland.
“We look forward to working closely with MetroHealth to ensure continuity of care for our region’s youngest patients,” said Patricia DePompei, president of UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and UH MacDonald Women’s Hospital.
“Our providers are dedicated to delivering coordinated care that achieves improved health and offers the best value,” said Dr. Marlene Miller, pediatrician-in-chief at University Hospitals and chair of the department of pediatrics at UH Rainbow.
