Streusel Noodle Kugel (dairy)

Makes 12-24 pieces


1 pound of noodles, cooked in salted water and drained


8 ounces of sour cream

1 ½ cups of sugar

16 ounces of sour cream

½ stick of butter, melted

2 tsp. vanilla extract

After well blended, add:

11 eggs

Mix until smooth

Place drained noodles in a greased 9 x 13 Pyrex pan

Pour mixture onto noodles

Streusel Topping:

1/3 cup light brown sugar

¼ cup all-purpose flour

2 tbsp. cold butter

½ tsp ground cinnamon

1 pinch of salt

Dash of nutmeg , optional


Mix all ingredients together with a pastry blender or with two knives, until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle on top of kugel before baking.

Bake in 350-degree oven for about 40 minutes, until set and lightly golden.

This cuts best when cold, so if you are making it ahead, refrigerate overnight.

Cut in size pieces you want, then reheat in 325 degree oven until heated through.

Reheat covered if it is as brown as you like it, or uncovered if you want it a little browner.
