Domo Yakitori and Sushi plans to open in September at Van Aken District in Shaker Heights.

The concept will be owned by Carmen Paponetti, who also owns Cabin of Willowick.

With room to seat 27 customers, the restaurant will offer a full sushi menu with rolls, nigiri and sashimi. Yakatori, a grilled skewer seasoned with a soy-based tare sauce, will focus mostly on chicken. The restaurant also plans to serve okonomiyaki, which is soba noodles and egg cooked on a flat top.

Along with a full liquor license, Domo will serve Japanese beers and soda, sake and wine.

Domo will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, and will occupy the back part of Van Aken District’s Market Hall.
