As part of Kent State University’s Jewish studies program, Michael Twitty, author of “The Cooking Gene,” will discuss “Kosher Soul” from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 24 at the university’s student center ballroom, 1075 Risman Drive in Kent.
Twitty is a James Beard Award-winning author. He will discuss the centrality of food in celebrating culture, understanding history and oneself. Books will be available for purchase and signing after the talk.
The event is free and open to the public.
