Stark Enterprises, owner of 12 Northeast Ohio Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt shops, will partner with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank throughout September to support the organizations’ Hunger Action Month initiative.

Through Sept. 30, select Menchie’s locations will accept monetary donations toward BackPack for Kids, a program created by the food banks to provide local children with meals when they aren’t in school. Each dollar raised will help fill backpacks for that program.

“When the opportunity was presented to partner with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank for their Hunger Action Month, we happily accepted,” Stacie Schmidt, vice president of marketing for Stark Enterprises, said in a news release. “The incredible work they do everyday to help those in need in our community is remarkable, and their BackPack for Kids program is the perfect fit for our Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt communities. We invite all to stop into one of our 12 area shops, enjoy some great product and support your local food bank.”

Each donation made at one of the shops will directly go to that area’s local food bank.
