Cleveland chef Jonathon Sawyer’s new restaurant, Sawyer’s, held a soft opening Oct. 30 to Nov. 2 at 3396 Tuttle Road at the Van Aken District in Shaker Heights, according to a post on the restaurant’s Instagram.

The restaurant boasts a wood-fired grill, as well as a chapa, an inch-thick steel slab that functions as a griddle, as well as a combination grill and oven.
The soft opening was reservations only. An official opening has yet to be announced.
Sawyer, which was a James Beard Award winner in 2015 in the Great Lakes Region, also operates Greenhouse Tavern, Noodlecat and Trentina.
