Summit Food Coalition, an alliance of people and organizations working to build a sustainable local food system in Summit County, honored Erin Molnar with its 2019 Liam Murray Local Food Hero award.

Molnar is the director of food programs at Countryside, a nonprofit organization that focuses on community-based farming and conservation programs through a partnership with Cuyahoga Valley National Park and park-based farms.

From leaders, food vendors, entrepreneurs and food advocates, all nominations were reviewed and voted on by the Summit Food Coalition’s Local Food Hero committee.

She will be honored at Summit Food Coalition’s “Savor the Summit Local Food Hero Celebration & Fundraiser” from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Trailhead at Cascade Lofts, 21 W. North St. in Akron.
