Norman Tischler is a saxophonist and director of the Workmen’s Circle Klezmer Orchestra.

Legacy Live will present a free performance by the Tischler Klezmer Orchestra at 2 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Legacy Village gazebo, 25001 Cedar Road in Lyndhurst.

For many years, he was also the conductor and lead soloist for the Workmen’s Circle Klezmer Orchestra. He died after a brief illness in January.

The band is under the direction of Cleveland musician Moss Stanley.

Additionally, the band will play at 5 p.m. Sept. 15 at Nighttown, as part of “A Tribute to Norman Tischler.” A CD of Tischler’s recordings will be released. Nighttown is at 12383 Cedar Road in Cleveland Heights.
