OPEN-Bees, a community support and educational group for Northeast Ohio parents of exceptional children, will present Dr. Nadine Gaab, an internationally known expert in dyslexia, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 11 at the Medina County District Library, 210 S. Broadway St., in Medina.
The program is free and open to the public.
Gaab is the associate professor of pediatrics at Boston Children’s Hospital and a leading researcher focused on children with developmental disorders, particularly language-based learning disabilities. In this live broadcast presentation, she will discuss the neurobiology of reading development, the “dyslexia paradox,” early screening for reading disabilities and evidence-based response to screening.
OPEN-Bees, founded in 2018, is a support group for parents of gifted children, children with dyslexia, other learning disabilities or comorbidity. It sponsors monthly meetings with presentations from physicians, counselors and other experts.
