Sima Goel, who grew up in Iran before and after the 1979 Iranian Revolution and escaped as a teenager for a better life, will tell her story to an audience at 7 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Schultz Campus for Jewish Life, 750 White Pond Drive in Akron.

Goel is also the author of her memoir, “Fleeing the Hijab: A Jewish Woman’s Escape from Iran.” She resides in Montreal as an established professional working toward a degree in functional neurology with her family.

Goel’s presentation is free and open to the public. The first 100 guests will receive a complimentary copy of Goel’s book.
