Rabbi Laura Geller, rabbi emerita of Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills, Calif., will speak about “Acquiring a Heart of Wisdom,” at 6:15 p.m. Aug. 2 at Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple, 23737 Fairmount Blvd. in Beachwood.
Twice named as one of Newsweek’s “50 Most Influential Rabbis in America,” Geller has been featured in the PBS documentary, “Jewish Americans.” She is also an author of articles, books and journals, such as “Getting Good at Getting Older.”
She is a founder of the first synagogue-based village, Chai Village LA, which is part of the national Village Movement, which seeks to have people age in their homes.
The service will be lead by Rabbi Joshua Caruso and Cantor Sarah Sager and is open to the public. An oneg will follow.
