Ally Benjamin has joined the Cleveland Jewish Publication Company as the Violet Spevack Editorial Intern this summer.
Benjamin will be a senior at The Ohio State University in Columbus, where she is majoring in communication.
She will work in the editorial department of the Cleveland Jewish News and the Columbus Jewish News, where she will learn from staff professionals about interviewing, writing, editing, design, social media, photography and more for all platforms, including both newspapers, magazines, websites and social media channels.
“Ally will gain invaluable experience that she can use in her journalism career by learning from our award-winning editorial, digital and design departments,” Managing Editor Bob Jacob said. “She will learn skills during her internship that will complement what she learns in the classroom and better prepare her for the working world. She will benefit from the time spent in our newsroom, observing and working with our entire professional staff.”
Benjamin, a graduate of Solon High School, was arts editor for The Solon High School Courier, and owns Aleigh Beauty, a freelance makeup company.
She is the daughter of Hilliary and Robert Benjamin of Solon.
