Jodi Berg was recognized as the Better Business Bureau Educational Foundation of BBB Serving Greater Cleveland as its 2018 BBB Champion of Integrity, while Fuchs Mizrachi High School senior Naomi Fink received a Students of Integrity Awards and $1,000 scholarship.
Berg is the fourth-generation president and CEO of Vitamix Cor., a manufacturer of blenders for the consumer and food service commercial markets.
The honor recognizes individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to ethical, honest and fair business practices in the conduct of their business careers in the Greater Cleveland area.
“Berg is the epitome of the character qualities the BBB Champion of Integrity award was created to recognize,” said Sue A. McConnell, BBB president. “Her leadership, which emphasizes integrity coupled with a passion for customer satisfaction, is exemplary.”
Fink is on track to be her class valedictorian and is a volunteer for the National Jewish Council for Disabilities as well as the Monarch School as an autism lunch buddy.
At Fuchs Mizrachi, Fink is student council president, editor of the yearbook, Model UN captain, editor of the school’s literary magazine, captain of the varsity basketball team, as well as a member of the varsity soccer and softball teams.
Forty-eight public and private high schools within the BBB's five-county service area participated by selecting their own Student of Integrity, who exhibits integrity through their leadership, community service, academics, and strong character ethics.
The following students received scholarships: Jacob Cramer from Orange High School, Mia Knight from Beachwood High School and Krista Albertins from Strongsville High School. Cramer was the Yoda Newton Editorial Intern at the Cleveland Jewish News.
The BBB also recognized Pranav Iyer from Solon High School, Tobias Engel from St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Hannah Glaser from St. Joseph Academy in Cleveland, Zachary Slimak from Oberlin High School and Elizabeth Ziegelmeyer from Elyria Catholic High School in Elyria as honorees.
