Two Beachwood teenagers are among six high school students who have been elected to the 2015-16 executive board of the Central Region of United Synagogue Youth, the North American youth group of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.
Hannah Borow, 17, was elected president, and Eliana Levine, 17, was elected social action/tikkun olam vice president. The new board was elected by a group of its peers at the CRUSY Regional Convention in April.
CRUSY includes Ohio, western Pennsylvania, Indianapolis, Kentucky, Michigan and West Virginia.
As part of the executive leadership team, the board will help run and shape the direction of the teen-led organization. They will work to engage other Conservative teens in all aspects of Jewish life from social action to Israel education to religious life.
Borow is a member of Congregation Shaarey Tikvah in Beachwood.
Levine is a member of Park Synagogue in Cleveland Heights and Pepper Pike.
