There’s new construction going on in Chagrin Highlands across the street from Pinecrest in Orange, which will soon bring a hotel and two restaurants.
Orange Mayor Kathy U. Mulcahy said the hotel will be a Drury-branded hotel, although she was unsure which of the company’s brands it would be.
One of the restaurants will be a Cooper’s Hawk Winery, which has locations in Columbus and Cincinnati. She said she didn’t know the identity of the second restaurant.
Mulcahy said construction recently began on the new development on Harvard Road near Interstate I-271 on land owned by the city of Cleveland as part of Chagrin Highlands agreement. Chagrin Highlands also sits in Beachwood, Orange and Warrensville Heights.
Mulcahy said Orange has been receiving updates about the project from the Richard E. Jacobs Group, which is handling construction.
Brad Kostka, senior vice president at Roop & Co., who is handling public relations for the project as a spokesman for the Richard E. Jacobs Group, said construction began about two weeks ago. He confirmed plans for a hotel and two restaurants and that Cooper’s Hawk Winery would be one of the two, but said the second one hasn’t been determined yet.
“(Construction is) certainly dependent on weather and other issues, but expected completion (of the hotel and restaurants) is somewhere around fall 2019,” Kostka said.
