The Software Guild, an Akron-based accelerated boot coding camp, has partnered with HackerUSA, Israel’s flagship IT and cyber security academy, to launch a new course in online information protection. It will be HackerUSA’s first U.S.-based partnership. A kick-off event was held Sept. 7 in Akron. It will be a 12-week boot camp program.

“Our mission is to connect students of all backgrounds with accessible education while training them with the high-level skills employers are looking for,” said Eric Wise, The Software Guild’s founder and chief academic officer, in a statement.

“In today’s global economy, that’s cyber security, as corporations, small organizations and government bodies face cyber threats every minute of every day. By leveraging HackerUSA’s two decades of experience in the field, our graduates will enter the workforce ready to be ethical hackers with the skills needed to identify vulnerable digital structures, develop solutions to prevent security breaches and protect against threats.”

The Software Guild also has locations in Minneapolis and Louisville, Ky.
