Entrepreneurs from across Northeast Ohio are coming together for a three-day immersive boot camp to share ideas, form teams and launch business ventures.
Techstars Startup Weekend will begin at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at LaunchHouse in Highland Heights and will run for 54-hours, concluding at 9 p.m. Oct. 22.
“I can’t think of a better way to get started as an entrepreneur than at startup weekend,” said Manoj Jhaveri, the organizer of the event. “You get to pitch an idea that you’ve been noodling over, create or join a team, validate the idea with real customers, build a prototype, and pitch to investors and experienced entrepreneurs – all in 54 hours. It’s the perfect boot camp experience.”
The weekend will bring together designers, developers, marketers and startup enthusiasts. Individuals who don’t have a business idea to create a startup also are encouraged to attend the event.
“This is an opportunity for people who may not consider themselves to be entrepreneurs to come out and test their ideas with a supportive group,” said LaunchHouse CEO and co-founder Todd Goldstein. “Just the relationships and exposure to new ideas alone make this weekend worth it. Great companies are built on great teams and this is the place where it all starts.”
Since the event began in 2007, it has been hosting in 150 countries with more than 200,000 alumni.
