Orange Police Sgt. Mike Roberts received the Aliki and Peter Rzepka Leadership Award, May 21 at the Joseph and Florence Mandel Jewish Day School 50th annual meeting.

“To the parents of Mandel JDS, your trust is the highest compliment I or any police officer can hope to achieve,” Roberts said, according to a June 4 release. “Occupying a place in my heart, the people of Mandel JDS feel my love and I feel theirs. After all, love is stronger than hate. It is stronger than fear and you deserve the right to learn, educate and worship without fear. Thank you for trusting me with the responsibility. It has truly been the most rewarding work of my 23-year law enforcement career.”

Adam Levin honored outgoing board president Jared Miller of Solon, who served for three years.

“Jared, under your leadership, Mandel JDS has strengthened its foundation, ensuring success for the next generation and beyond,” Levin said, according to the release.
