jHUB added Rabbi Chase Foster to its staff, effective July 1.
“I am blessed to join a stellar team of community thought leaders doing work that is essential to the vibrancy and flourishing of Jewish life,” said Foster, who moved to the Cleveland area with his wife, Sarah, a Jewish educator. “My father isn’t Jewish, so I have seen firsthand the power of embracing Jews and those they love in Jewish community. Engaging families who are interfaith will strengthen the Jewish community, will enable more people to live lives of meaning, and will bring more light into our world.”
Foster most recently was the assistant rabbi at Congregation Beth Israel in Houston. He also served at the University of Cincinnati Hillel.
A graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., he was ordained at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati.
“He will be expanding jHUB’s programming by creating new spiritual and deeper learning opportunities for young adults,” jHUB director Rabbi Melinda Mersack said.
jHUB provides assistance to interfaith families wanting to explore Jewish culture and values.
