The Riverside Company of Cleveland was among honorees at the Values-in-Action Foundation of Project Love on Jan. 18 at Landerhaven in Mayfield Heights.
Riverside, represented by co-CEO Stewart Kohl, and Dwyer Group, represented by Dina Dwyer-Owens, received the Malden Mills Corporate Kindness Award.
Chairman Marc Byrnes and Oswald Companies received the Gordon E. Heffern Award for Values, Ethics and Community.
The Town of Gander in Newfoundland, Canada, was recognized with the Rescuer of Humanity Award for its community efforts during the 9/11 tragedy, when the town welcomed 7,000 stranded flight passengers that descended on the town of 10,000 for several days while flights were diverted from U.S. airspace.
Tom Pasko of St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland was given the Close-Caputo Educator of Humanity Award.
WKYC-TV received the Alan R. Schonberg Community Rescuer Award for “See the Possible.”
Author and speaker Jameel Davis earned the Eric Scott Russell Kindness Award.
The program attracted 650 guests.
