One person fired at least 21 rounds in a shooting that injured four people in Pepper Pike on June 2 just after midnight, according to a news release from police.
Three people were shot; one received from broken glass. The shooting took place at Landerwood Plaza on Pinetree Road.
"Almost all of the shots fired appear to have been aimed at one car, a Volkswagen Jetta," the news release said. An 18-year-old man from Garfield Heights suffered from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
Pepper Pike police released 911 tapes of calls received following the shooting.
“I hear, it’s like gunfire outside,” one caller said. ““It sounded like 10 shots, which is very unusual sound for this area.”
“I don’t know where they’re coming from, and I haven’t heard anything else, and I do not think that a backfiring of a car would sound like that.”
A single gunshot fired at a Ford Fusion injured two teenagers: a 16-year-old boy from Cleveland and a 17-year-old boy from Beachwood, according to police.
The fourth victim, an 18-year-old from Beachwood was struck in the hand by glass from a broken window, according to a news release.
Detectives are now "looking at a person of interest," the news release said. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 216-252-7463.
