A maintenance worker at the Citadel Apartments at 355 Solon Road called police for a smudged swastika on the window near the front door of the building Sept. 16, according to a Chagrin Falls police report.
“He said that he noticed these smudges around 0730 hours this morning when he took his kid outside to catch the bus,” Patrolman Greg Ferrell wrote in a report. “(Emanuel) Jones said it was around 1130 hours, when he went to clean them, he noticed a swastika drawn in one of the smudges. I was unable to obtain a photo, due to glare and the faintness of the image. Jones was able to clean off the smudges and advised there was no damage done.”
A subsequent review of security videotapes did not yield a suspect, according to the report.
The report classifies the smudged swastika as criminal mischief.
