Solon Chamber of Commerce will present its 2019 business and volunteer awards and milestone anniversaries at its annual holiday luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at Pinstripes, 111 Park Ave. in Orange.

Loan Protector Insurance Services is the business of the year. In addition to increasing staff by 35%, it moved into a newly remodeled building on Parkland Boulevard. The company commitment to Solon includes a partnership with the Solon Food Pantry by sending volunteers to help.

Carl DiVita, store director of the recently closed Mustard Seed Market & Cafe, is the volunteer of the year. He became involved with the chamber in July 2018 by volunteering to serve on the membership committee. He was elected to the chamber board of directors on Jan. 1.

Milestone anniversaries are as follows: 40 years, Brennan Industries, Inc., Carter Lumber, Duffy’s Flowers and Great Lakes Cold Storage; 25 years, Fastener Tool & Supply, Inc.; and 10 years, Park Place Technologies, Inc., Wrap-Tite, Inc., Solon Orthodontics, Philip D. Bomeli, DDS, MS, Jan-Pro/Zaymat, Marketplace Events, Commtrol, Signum LLC, Direct Recruiters, Inc., O’Brien Construction, Chagrin Safety Supply and CBIZ MHM, LLC.

There will be a performance by the Solon Madrigal Choir, led by Gary Lewis.

Board of Directors elected

The 2020 chamber board of directors elected to serve a two-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2020, through Dec. 31, 2021, are: new board members, Sunny Daga, Wrap-Tite; Sam Foster, CMIT Solutions; Julie Liedtke, Cuyahoga County Public Library Solon branch; Denise Millhollan, Cuyahoga Community College eastern campus; and Linda Myers, Linda Myers State Farm.
