Incumbent Jeremy Aaron Zelwin took the single, four-year spot as Solon’s Ward 3 City Council member, defeating challenger John T. Scott, according to final, unofficial results from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.

Zelwin garnered 584 votes (60.1%) to Scott’s 387 (39.9%).

Zelwin joins Solon councilmembers elected Nov. 5 for the other wards: Macke Bentley (Ward 1), Nancy E. Meany (Ward 5) and William I. Russo (Ward 7) and previously elected Solon councilmembers Robert N. Pelunis (Ward 2), Marc. R. Kotora (Ward 4) and Bob Shimits (Ward 6).

In a close race, Bentley beat incumbent Doug McGill in Ward 1.
