Incumbent Orange Village Board of Education member Jeff Leikin was re-elected and Deborah L. Kamat and Rebecca A. Boyle were elected for their first term to the board of education Nov. 7.
According to final, unofficial results from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, Kamat led the voting with 2,308 votes. Leikin was next with 2,031 votes, followed by Boyle with 1,862. S. Carlton Betts Jr. had 935 votes and Sandra L. Wilson had 857.
Leikin was elected to his second term on the board.
“I’m happy to be re-elected,” Leikin said. “I realize there are a lot of things left open that I want to continue to pursue, most of which is to continue to establish a rigorous curriculum for the kids in athletics, the arts and academics so we can move everybody forward. I just have a lot of plans so I’m very happy to be staying on the board. We have a new superintendent coming in, I’d like to be a part of that process and be part of the new leadership that comes into the district.”
