Mark Wiseman was re-elected to University Heights City Council at large Nov. 7, according to final, unofficial results from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.

Wiseman said he was “ecstatic” to retain his seat for a second term and especially to work with the new mayor-elect, Michael Dylan Brennan.

“I’m having so much fun being on council in University Heights and the fact that we are going to have a new mayor in January makes me all the more happy to be there,” Wiseman said.“We are finally going to have a mayor who considers council an equal partner in the administration of the city and is going to listen to and work with residents.”

Earning 1,627 votes, or 25 percent, Wiseman won one of three seats for a four-year term on council, along with incumbent and vice mayor Susan D. Pardee, who received 1,857 votes, or 29 percent, and incumbent Phillip Ertel, who received 1,397 votes, or 21 percent.

Hannah Lebovits received 1,043 votes, or 16 percent, and Annelise Kostyo earned 581 votes, or 9 percent, respectively.

“I’d like to thank everyone who voted for me, but tonight’s story is about Michael Brennan,” Wiseman said.

In a separate race for a two-year term on University Heights council, incumbent John P. Rach was re-elected over Mary M. Ebner. Rach received 1,600 votes, or 58 percent, to Ebner’s 1,155 votes, or 42 percent.
