Beachwood High School senior soccer player Carly Petti is the Cleveland Jewish News-Buffalo Wild Wings Warrensville Heights Player of the Week.
Petti, 17, is a third-year captain for the Bison who plays forward and center-mid. Petti had a goal and a game-winning assist in a 5-3 win against Cuyahoga Heights on Aug. 29.
Petti said she thinks the season is going “pretty well” and is hopeful she can be more successful than she was, personally, last season. She said she put in extra work in the offseason and hopes it will pay off. As far as team goals, she said the Bison have one in mind in particular.
“We are trying to win the conference (the Chagrin Valley Conference),” she said, adding that the Bison women haven’t won the conference since 2007. “Right now, we’re undefeated (in the conference).”
She also said she hopes she can score more goals this year than her previous years and set her teammates up better, earning more assists than she has in the past. Her career highs are 10 goals and nine assists.
