Fuchs Mizrachi School sophomore soccer player Jesse Rosenblum is the Cleveland Jewish News-Buffalo Wild Wings Warrensville Heights Player of the Week.
Rosenblum, 15, is a Beachwood resident and has been one of the top scorers for the Mayhem in a tough season, scoring seven goals in the team’s four games as Fuchs Mizrachi’s right forward.
“We started out pretty rough this year (as a team), our record is now (1-3),” Rosenblum said. “The talent is there, we’re just trying to figure everything out. We have a new coach this year and I’m excited for what the future holds.”
Rosenblum said he felt like he’s played better this year, compared to last season.
“I hope that continues to be the case and I hope that I can reach more accomplishments and I’m just thankful that my friends and my family are supporting me throughout my sports career,” he said.
Fuchs Mizrachi boys’ soccer coach Sean Slaughter admitted Rosenblum’s strong play has surprised him a little.
“I knew he’d be good, but I didn’t know how talented he was going to be until our games started,” Slaughter said. “I’ve been really impressed with him so far.”
Slaughter said Rosenblum still has some room for improvement, but enjoys having him on the team.
“He’s a good kid, just a sophomore, still trying to learn a little more,” Slaugher said. “I think he’s the best player on our team.”
