Reading about Camp Galil and Camp Deer Run brought back my happy memories as a junior counselor at Camp Galil when I was 15 and 16, where Hensha Stone, Judy Weiss’ sister, was also serving. (“Camp Stone cements Zionist memories for 50 years,” Aug. 23)

At that time, Irv Lerner was the director, and Ike and Ethel Eisenstein were the head counselors. Ironically, the next year, right before I went off to college, I was a counselor at Camp Deer Run. Ike (who the directors insisted be called “skipper”) was the head counselor.
